The Home is proud to be the recipient of the 2016 5-star rating from the Federal Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services, the highest attainable, and has again been rated one of the best nursing homes for 2016 by US News and World Report.
The Home was honored to be recognized as a 2014 recipient of the Silver "Achievement in Quality" award. The Silver award is the second highest attainable through the National Quality Award program presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The Silver award is limited to those facilities which have demonstrated a level of achievement in their quality journey through good performance outcomes that have evolved from how they embrace the core values and concepts of visionary leadership, focus on the future, resident-focused excellence, management by innovation, and focus on results and creating value. The Silver award was presented to the Home in October at a ceremony in Washington, DC. In total, only 77 facilities nationwide attained a Silver award in 2014; in DC, the Home was one of two to receive this honor.
The Home was also one of five DC facilities to earn the 2016 Delmarva Foundation Committed to Excellence Award
The Home was honored to be chosen by the DC Ombudsman Program to meet with a delegation from Singapore wanting to learn more about how we provide medical, social and other functional services to aging residents of the community. The delegation, led by the Singapore Minister of Health, toured the Home on November 1, 2016 and engaged in a thoughtful, open discussion about our mission of service to the city’s elder low income residents.
