COVID Update January 20, 2023

We are happy to report that currently no residents are positive for COVID-19. The Nursing Facility still remains in outbreak status as we have two staff members who are positive for COVID-19. The staff members are isolating at home and recovering. We continue to follow measures outlined by DC Health and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) by focus testing and continuing any group activities with social distancing in place. The Dining Room remains open allowing for one person per table until we are cleared of the outbreak. As always, should your loved one test positive at any time or have any health status changes you will be contacted.

Due to the high transmission rate of COVID-19 in DC, the community remains in the Red Zone. This means that caregivers must again wear face shields as well as masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) where appropriate. There is presently no comingling between the Nursing Facility and the Assisted Living Residence. Please know that we will do everything we can to keep the residents safe, involved and engaged.

At this time, DC Health requires that visitors wear masks in the Home and maintain social distance from others. Visits will continue to take place as they have for the past several months. Our front desk staff will welcome you via the front door and assist you in registering by using the electronic kiosk to screen in. As in the past, we are asking all unvaccinated visitors, visitors who do not wish to disclose vaccination status and visitors who are not up to date with vaccination boosters to remain in the lobby and visit in designated areas. We ask these visitors to avoid mingling with staff and residents as much as possible.
